the end

the end

everything always comes to an end. sometimes, endings can lead to sadness && sometimes endings can lead to more freedom, happiness and relief than expected. but nevertheless, my own ending can only be defined as… bittersweet.

with months of rl insanity, my blogging time in sl has taken a hit. and rather than thinking of it as an annoyance, i’ve come to think of it as a blessing in disguise. without feeling the need to blog, i’ve found myself actually enjoying my second life when i get the chance to log in. and it’s been wonderful.

so even after almost three years of off-and-on hard work, i’m ending it here.

to all the designers i’ve come to know in second life: thank you. it’s been my absolute pleasure to showcase your wonderful items in the best way i can.

to everyone who has ever read my blog: thank you. every single visit to my little corner of the internet means quite a lot to me.

thank you to anyone who took the time out of their day to leave me an IM saying how much you enjoyed my blog. it made my day every single time. a thank you to my friends, who stood and posed with me for hours just to get that one single shot. thank you to all the lovely people on flickr that, unknowingly or not, gave me the confidence to keep on blogging even when i thought my photos could never compare to some of the talented people out there… you’ve no idea how meaningful your comments of encouragement (and favorites!) have been for me.

i’ll miss the second life blogiverse, and letting go of this part of my second life is indeed bittersweet.. i’ve had more fun with my blog than i care to admit. it’s hard to let it go, but i’m happy to do so all the same.

giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirl, it is *too* early in the morning right now in my area of the world. the sun is barely high enough in the sky to make it light out && yet here i am, awake. now, sometimes i don’t mind an early start to the day, but today… mmh, i dunno if i am feelin’ it yet. maybe i need a cup of coffee…

cause, y’know, that’s the best thing to do at the buttcrack of dawn. ;P and luckily for us, there is a *hunt* going on right now to supply us with said underwears… free of charge~

the dirty pillows hunt started at the beginning of the month && bff vivi and i were pretty excited to tuck in to it. me, i was most excited for the fact that free lingerie is the best lingerie (considering out of all the categories of clothing there are in my virtual wardrobe, the smallest folder is for bras ‘n’ panties), but for vivi… she was excited because this hunt includes boobies.

the grid has seemingly exploded lately with big ole titties. clothing ads, blog posts, flickr pics… it’s hard to miss ’em nowadays. and while i’ve always been happy with a smaller cup-size, vivienne on the other hand took the plunge and picked up a pair of lola’s prim breasts.

for what they are, they are *definitely* nicer than bumpin’ the sliders up to max. the shape, fit, and general appearance of vivi’s boobs look *awesome* (and i mean, really awesome) with these prim tatas on. and even though they are totally not for me, i can still see the appeal… both for wearing them yourself and having a more realistic larger bust && for having a li’l (heh, or not so li’l) something extra for your partner to ogle.

all the hunt prizes — including both sets of lingerie we’re wearing here — include appliers for prim breasts. and the best part is, even if you’re not the owner of some fabulously large boobies, you can *still* make use of the freebies just like i am. the hunt may be geared for the busty gals out there, but those of us in the ittie bitty titty committee can still hunt for some very nice lingerie for *freeeeee*!

bff vivi and i have been putting a few last finishing touches on our new home.. y’know, the little details that make things look more “lived in”. and since our living room is so huge (ie, there’s enough room for a full living room set while *still* leaving half the room undecorated), she and i decided to put down a cute dining room set… even though we don’t have a kitchen. ;P only in sl!

and so my look for today is very appropriate for lounging around my house, something comfy but still cute.. while i rez and re-rez candles and books and paintings and picture frames and flower pots.

this cute cream-colored mesh top i’m wearing is *new* from sakide. there’s lots of new releases at sakide, all of which are awesome separates. ponchos(!), jeans, stockings, boots.. but these v-neck tees were probably my favorites out of the bunch. they are great for layering, which is something i *love* to do in autumn, but still season-appropriate enough on their own to totally work for fall. and i liked this khaki color for how versatile it is to work with!

i know it’s kiiinda hard to see, but check out my necklace! it’s *adorable* && is out @ collabor88 from intrigue co. little potted cactus plants, each dotted with small flowers.. how cute is that!? the set comes with a matching ring (that i *am* wearing here, even if i’m a derp and didn’t photograph it properly :/) and earrings, where each choice has different colored flower accents. so fun && so *cute*, i love accessories like these!

today was kind of a lazy day, i mean.. i didn’t even bother putting on shoes! but i still like this look for how real it is. i wouldn’t be moving furniture around in my rl in a skirt, heels and flowy top.. so i don’t do it in my sl, either~

…not only is the color palette gorgeous (shades of deep orange, golden yellow && cool teal-blue), but just about everything i spied there was callin’ my name~

collabor88 is one of those events that i look most forward to every single month. the mixture of home furnishings (which *really* helps, considering i’ve a brand new home to finish decorating!), fabulous fashion, accessories and even poses is all kinds of awesome. but this round, i found *so* many things i honestly flipped out for that i couldn’t even fit everything into one look. the collections just keep getting better && better and this round was definitely no exception.

the dress i’m wearing here is *so* sexy. it’s from hucci and i absolutely love it. the turtleneck collar, the length of the skirt, the lovely suede texturing…. and the way it moves… it is just flaw free. the fit on this dress is fantastic and i adore this blue-gray color, but i also snagged it in black because it was just too *good* to pass up.

glam affair also has a few new things at collabor88 this round, including both the boots(!) && the skin i’m wearing today. the seul ankle boots come in a range of really pretty jewel tone colors that almost look metallic, but my favorite was this pretty golden bronze color. it’s neutral enough to work with just about anything i could possibly want to wear ’em with, but still *unique* enough to really add a pop of color into an outfit. they are shiny and high-heeled and impeccably textured. love~

and the skin…. well, it *is* that time of year after all. being a little under the weather is not uncommon in the colder months of fall && winter, but at least you can still look adorable with your snuffly nose. this set of skins, in glam affair’s roza and ginny faces, can either look like you’ve got a bit of a cold…. or like your face is flushed from being out in some chilly wind. such a cute idea that translates really, really well if you take lots of pictures in-world like i do. having that extra flush on the cheeks and nose, when combined with a “cooler” windlight setting && maybe a scarf (like the one i’m wearing here, which is a *freebie* from mr. poet!) totally adds another level of realism to your snapshots!

where the magic happens

if you’ve followed my blog at all over the years, you’ll know that bff vivi && i have lived together as roomies in sl for quite a while. last summer she and i bought a small beachy parcel and set up a house there together… there were lots of pictures here on my blog of us in our home. but this week, she ‘n’ i decided to move… and what an undertaking that was!

we’re *mostly* moved in… not everything is decorated and we’re still in the stages of figuring out what to put where… but since my bedroom is just about finished, i decided i’d pose there for my bloggity pics there today.

our land is still beachy, so our furnishings for the moment is in shades of cream, khaki, blue, and yellow. but i am really liking it && the entire sim is gorgeous, so vivi and i have had no problems settling right in~

i promise once it’s all decorated, i’ll snap some pics.. but for now, you’re stuck seein’ me in my bedroom. ;P

anyway! enough about my new house, onto the look i’ve got for today!

this mesh vest && button-down combo is from cracked mirror @ fameshed and while it looks just as cute over some jeans or leggings, i decided to style it today as… throwing my boyfriend’s shirt on in the morning. it’s *just* long enough to be decent as a (very) short shirt-dress && i really love the colors it comes in. i snagged it in this pink ‘n’ purple combo, but no matter which shirt you end up getting… there’s three versions included with different colored long shirts underneath the cropped vest. having options like that is *awesome* and makes it really worth the price~

since i wasn’t wearing pants (eh heh), i decided to go for a pair of long gartered socks from sn@tch. it should come as no surprise that i love me some gartered socks, i seem to always gravitate towards socks and stockings with garters included, but this deep wine color not only matched *perfectly* but also looked so damn sexy. and as always, you don’t get just *one* pair for the price, but an entire fatpack of socks in several different colors… inexpensive with lots of choice makes sn@tch one of my absolute favorite brands for depleting my linden balance super fast.

but for now, i need to get back to decoratin’ my new home! it’s so exciting having a new place and decorating is both fun and a li’l daunting. but i cannot wait to get it all finished…. and maybe, just maybe, starting thinking early about how we’re gonna holiday it up this year. :3 yay~

moving!

so it’s been a few days since my last post, and i have a very good reason for that.. i swear.

i’m not moving in rl… but i am in sl. and i forgot how time consuming it can be to get everything set back up! bff vivi and i have been working the last few days on setting up our new house and our new parcel, but once we’re done decorating (and redecorating… and redecorating a third time) i’ll be able to get back to blogging normally! and that may include a li’l tour of our new home, so, at least there’s that to look forward to? xP ❤

i’m kind of… accidentally patriotic with my look for today. powder blue isn’t *typically* the shade one associates with the good ole red, white and blue.. but that ended up being my color scheme for the day~

and it *all* started with this cherry print skirt.

i picked it up from teefy @ the new fameshed collection because… it’s cherries(!). this print is so cute and i love the way these skirts fit. high-waist skirts are always super sexy, especially when they’re nice and short like these are, but i chose to wear the skirt underneath a large ‘n’ comfy hoodie (from ispachi — this light blue color is wonderful!) for a more cute, casual look.

these shoes from g field were *perfect* for this look… because while i grabbed the black pair, most of the shoe is totally customizable. the upper half, the toe, the sole && the laces are all texture change, so i was able to change my shoes to match my red && blue look. these shoes are fantastically made (as is everything from g field), and really nice for casual wear.. and the fact that i can match them to just about *anything* make these a great bargain.

the sim i photographed this look on is so cute! i spied it first on juicybomb and made a mental note to visit when i had a look appropriate enough for the sim. and i have to say, the build there is *really* creative. almost everything is animated — there’s a cute li’l fisherman sitting on a bridge over the water and a lady peeking out of the window in her home, for example — and it all looks like the hand-drawn style of art found in a children’s book. big poofy clouds, oversized butterflies.. there were even swans floating around in a pond. not only is this sim wonderful for photographs, but it’s also just so *adorable* for exploring. check it out if you’ve not, yet!

my chair has horns and a raven. my chair > your chair.

i have this chair because i wanted something funky to pose with for my look for today. there really was no *need* for a chair, but i found this one at handverk (because maybe.. just maybe.. i was there eying up a few more pairs of heels, y’know, to go with my sweet pink penis pumps) and i was compelled to buy it. i mean, it has horns(!) and a raven(!!).. what more needs to be said?

so to not detract from the awesomeness of this chair, i decided to dress understated and demure…….. with gray skin, purple-tipped ears, red eyes and some crazy eye makeup. ..*coughs*

anyway! my look for today is a combination of a few things i wanted to show off, so let me touch on ’em here before i get too sarcastic. these huge platform’d boots i’m wearing are from sakide and if you act *fast*, they might still be available to grab! they were a 100L special for halloween and, as i’m sure you’re aware, halloween is over… but these boots are still great for beyond just halloween. they’re textured with spider webs and such, but it’s subtle and you really have to look close to see the pattern… which means these *won’t* be sitting in the bottom of my inventory until next october. they’re thigh-high and *mesh* and i really, really liked these. go scope out sakide if you’d like them, i hope they’re still out!

this gorgeous collar && earring set i’m wearing here by amorous is out @ the tomorrow today charity event. if you’d like more information on the event, please click and read through the blog posts by matchbook monday. there are lots of designers set up at the event and, in turn, lots of goodies to snag in the hopes of helping matchbook raise money. matchbook monday is one of my own personal favorites when it comes to jewelry, but not *only* because her designs are flawless. she is a really sweet person — the few times i’ve had the pleasure of talking to her, she’s been *nothing* but kind and friendly and incredibly generous — and i honestly hope this event goes well for her. plus, you’re getting some awesome items in return (if you’re a hair junkie like i am, make sure you poke your head into the truth && wasabi pills stalls!), so if you’re inclined… visit the event and browse around~

another event with new stuffs is fameshed… and the new collection is *amazing*. the first thing i had my eye on was this hairstyle i’m wearing here from exile. this updo looked, to me, almost like a messy-bun-mohawk && i seriously fell in love. the style is perfection, it is one of my absolute favorites to date from exile, and i love that it worked so well not only with the jewelry i’m wearing…

…but also with these *ears*, which are a collab between ni.ju and trap. they are pierced a thousand ways && are completely customizable — not only does each ear set come with a hud for recoloring everything (the skintone, tips, piercings.. even the highlight and shadow are color-change), but they’re *also* fully mod which allowed me to recolor a few of the piercings by themselves. they were a breeze to tint, full of such wonderful detail, and really worth picking up!

ah, november… even though it is undeniably autumn now that halloween is over, and i’ve woken up every day recently in my rl to typical fall weather with cold winds && lotsa rain (damn you, hurricane sandy!), i wasn’t really feelin’ the whole bundled up sort of look for today.

and it has a *lot* to do with these shoes. but i’ll get to that in a moment~

most of this look is made up of things i’ve had floatin’ around in my inventory for a li’l while, which is.. refreshing to do, sometimes. i know i talk a lot here about the black hole that is my virtual wardrobe and even though at the moment it is mostly organized, there still are things i rediscover in there that i forgot i had. it’s nice to go shopping in my own inventory && put together a “new” look with stuffs i’ve bought in the past. y’know, give them fresh new life and all that!

i grabbed this bra from sn@tch, during a recent sale. i *think* the sale has ended ( sorry, blogger fail ;( ) but this lingerie set was pretty and *leopard* and caught my eye. i picked up a few other things during that sale… as i do with most sales. can’t just buy one thing, right? ;P but i felt like blogging the lingerie without doing a *typical* lingerie post. because i’m sure the last thing ya’ll want to see is me in my panties, riiiiight?

so i threw on a blazer, because.. it’s classy, okay? and this one from house of fox is *super* cute. the shape is wonderful, i love the collar && the draping folds of fabric, and it showed just enough of the bra to appease me while still keeping me .. mostly .. covered up. i grabbed for these maitreya jeans to pair with the bra ‘n’ blazer, because honestly? they are probably my absolute favorite mesh jeans to date. they fit in such wonderful ways and the butt is fantastic.. and since i was already wearing some *new* maitreya goodies, i figured the jeans would be a perfect fit.

and yes, now will commence the gushing over these shoes..

hi, my name is vixxie, and i am in slove with these wedges. these are the *new* maitreya sandals called suave and they are amaaaaaaaaaazing. while i chose to wear ’em here with this look as solid black sandals, they actually come with a lot of options for customization.

the wedged heels come in four different texture choices (two are shown above) *and* these shoes can be worn with socks or without. the socks come in eleventy billion color options, too, which made me *squee* with joy. wedge sandals aren’t typical fall and winter footwear but these socks make them *awesome* for layering with leggings and jeans.

when i saw the ad on onyx leshelle‘s flickr i was honestly expecting the sock && no-sock versions to be separate… so imagine my glee when i realized they are all-in-one. and believe me, i agonized over which color to grab. i finally settled on this black pair, because you cannot go wrong with black, but the hot pink raspberry color && the deep red oxblood color also called my name… i have a feeling i will be *forced* to go back && pick them up, too.

maitreya’s mesh items are so fantastic and these shoes are no exception. expect to see them here often on my blog, because they will be *glued* to my feet for a while i’m sure.
