moves like jagger

mesh is aaaaaaaawesome. it went gridwide last week && i’ve been havin’ a blast trying on goodies in mesh. i love how easily it moves with my avatar and how much *nicer* it can look than prims && system clothing can because it’s all one piece. no need to worry about avatar-to-prim seams! \o/

for it being so new, there’s quite a lot on the grid thus far in mesh. and some of it is even free 😉 which makes me a happy girl!

this jumpsuit from hucci was sent out to subscribo members and was the first thing i had to test out mesh for myself. it moves with my AO or with dance animations or with static poses like real clothing would and that is so, so sweet. when wearing mesh clothing, you have to wear an alpha for the body part(s) covered by the garment and the actual piece is all in one. there’s no moving && no editing the mesh once it’s on (which is nice, in a way, because you don’t have to worry about fiddling with prims.. but i do wish i could nudge bits and pieces just a li’l bit). luckily, i didn’t have to edit my shape to fit.. which i’ve read is sometimes necessary depending on your body shape.. but whatever shape the mesh is in is what you’ve got. so while wearing this jump suit, i have quite the.. *ahem* ample bottom which is much different than my actual shape is.

this dress is also from the subscribo @ hucci && it is *smokin’* hot. mini dresses like this really, really benefit when made from mesh.. because that li’l crotch prim that never seems to sit quite right once you’ve got your AO on? it’s gone! gooonnneee~~! the dress is almost like wearing a system skirt, except without the bloated hips && booty, and it will stretch and move with your legs or hips or butt. i really like the way skirts and dresses look with mesh if for no other reason than the typical miniskirt prim isn’t needed. 8D

jane already has quite the selection of mesh loveliness up for sale and i was rather impressed with everything out. there’s a pair of wide-legged pants that are super cute, but i ended up going with this hoodie && a pair of shorts. you can really see how nice having mesh clothing can be when you look at the sleeves on the hoodie i’m wearin’. there’s no seam, there aren’t multiple attachments to give me the long, baggy sleeves (which i love, btw, how the cuffs come down over the wrists — all my irl hoodies are like this too!).. it’s all one piece. granted, even the small size is a wee bit big for my avatar… but that’s to be expected. i’m definitely not the norm when it comes to sl-size. but i’m totally okay with that, ’cause who doesn’t have an oversized comfortable sweatshirt?

these jeans, from slink are *free* until the end of the month — and are seriously worth grabbing if you need a guinea pig item to test out mesh. they come in the three colors shown above and just walking around in them, you can see how nicely they move with your avatar. there are no cuffs to adjust (and i am *always* having to adjust jean cuffs for my short self) and they even come in various sizes to help you get a decent fit.

the best thing, imho, about mesh… is the fact that prims no longer get all wonky on you when you’re moving around. some things tend to look a li’l strange depending on what pose or animation you’re in but with mesh… that worry is lessened considerably. sometimes things *still* can get wonky, but the fact that i don’t have to worry about legs or arms pokin’ out of stuff? makes it a total *win*~ it’s definitely not perfect, yet, but it makes me excited about things to come!
dancing around in mesh clothing, just to watch it move, makes me pretty excited too. x3

bubblegum mermaids

bff vivi && i have had a fascination with mermaids ever since we both were youngins. the little mermaid was, like, *the* movie for us.. we both were pretty much obsessed. x3 and because of that, she and i have always kinda wanted to float around in sl as pretty mer-avatars, but we never found the right bits && bobs… until recently, that is.

evie’s closet is a new-to-me brand, but oooh my gawwwd such pretty things there! it *totally* made me tempted to buy an entire wardrobe of mermaid tails just to have one for every day of the week! @_@ the one vivienne is wearing was actually discounted, but i’ve no idea for how long! if you’re a.. frugal mermaid, it’s definitely worth grabbing. it comes with every last li’l bit you need to look the part — all the fins, the tail, the scales, the delicate accessories && the lovely top are all included. it’s in such a beautiful color palette, looks very… opalescent to me.

and since it’s bubblegum weekend, vivi decided on a pretty shade of lime green hair from truth.. that looks all… floaty && soft, like it would while in the water. with the colors she picked, white and gold and green, she looks very sweet && innocent. like a *good* mermaid! while i, on the other hand (or fin? i suppose?)…

my tail, fins, top, belly ring, crown && bangles are all from evie’s closet too. but i decided to go the darker route, which always seems to be the case. and there’s nothin’ wrong with having a li’l bad in you, as long as it looks as nice as these pieces do! i was really, really worried about how the tails would look.. if our legs would *mesh* well enough with the prim attachments to look seamless, but i am quite impressed with the way they fit and with the way they look. all you need is a decent mermaid AO (of which there are several *cheap ones* on the marketplace if you search!) to help keep your legs smushed together for the illusion to work. it’s flawless && it’s awesome, and testing out swimmy animations in the water off of our new land was *so much* fun!!

and since my fins were black && silver, i decided to go with that theme all over — complete with some coral-y face makeup from chelle, a choker from loulou&co, a pair of mysteriously dark eyes from insufferable dastard (which is seriously my go-to for eyes now) && wispy, blue hair from exile that looks both badass and water-swept all at once. \o/

just like everything in sl that i enjoy — whether it’s elven ears, faun legs, horns, wings, kitty tails, demon skins, or even things like piercings and tattoos — it’s awesome to me that i can wear one thing one day.. and then something totally && completely different the next. if i feel like swimmin’ around as a mermaid, i can (and will!) and it’s as easy as switching to a different outfit. the freedom to do that, even in a virtual world, is an awesome thing! i’m glad that there are talented content creators out there that will indulge my.. fickle nature and make such perdyyy pieces for me to hoard. and speaking of hoarding, the blue version of my mermaid outfit is callin’ my name…

when bff vivi’s birthday rolls around (which was the *24th*, btw 😉 it’s not too late to bombard her with happy belated bday IMs! and yes, i am still recovering from the party.. @_@), then i know summer is slowly winding down. my favorite season of the year is fall, mainly because of halloween(!!), but i love the warmth && the sunshine of summer. i’m not sure i’m ready yet to think about turtlenecks and scarves and orange/yellow leaves. i will cling to summer this year for as loooooooong as i can!

my look today evolved into something… country somehow. it wasn’t the way i started, but i like the way it turned out. :3 i dressed around the new top i picked up from t.whore, which i decided to wear in orange for a change. i own so much black.. and gray.. and white.. and dark gray… and light gray.. and black… and medium gray.. and blac– … well. you get the idea, heh. branching out in color was nice for once! i think this shirt is one of the few things i own in orange && i really, really like it. the way it’s unbuttoned and pulled to the side is incredibly sexy, but looks totally cute over a tank or a tee if you’d like to be more modest~

and, since i mentioned vivienne tailleur’s birthday… the necklace i’m wearing, from lacie cakes is 1/2 of a set i bought as a gift for her. the charm is half of a peanut butter && jelly sandwich (vivi owns the jelly side, and her charm says “friends”, while mine says “best”) and was so cute i could *not* pass it up. there needs to be more bff jewelry on the grid! i’d buy ’em up in bulk so so fast! she and i totally do go together like pb&j, but we could go together like peas and carrots (forrest gump ftw~)… or milk and cookies… cake and ice cream… *hint hint hinthinthint to the jewelry designers out there* half and half charms on necklaces or bracelets would be adooo~ooorable.

said room i’m posin’ in is *new* from magnifique && i am adoring the new props that scarlet chandrayaan has been making lately! the couch i plopped in my room, so it wasn’t all empty inside, is from magnifique too — and chalk full of super cute poses just like the doorway && room prop i’m highlighting. it makes for much more interesting photography than just white walls && floors. i just felt.. compelled to decorate it (however sparsely..) inside, but what can i say. i’m on a decorating kick lately, new home and all..

i’m probably the last person on the grid to take advantage of it, but if you haven’t heard… there’s a *huge* sale going on @ coco right now. this makes my inner fashionista squeak with glee! lots of well-made goodies with hefty discounts is, like, right up my alley. but instead of taking the high fashion route with coco’s clothing && accessories…

…i decided to punk ’em up out li’l bit. :3

the fully sculpted vest, studded belt && insanely awesome over-knee boots are all from coco — and luckily for me, are things i’ve had my eye on for a long time now. the sale was just an extra excuse to purchase. \o/ and the way i’ve styled the pieces here is just a testament to how versatile clothes && accessories can be. suuuure, coco’s entire collection looks straight off the runway or right out of the hautest (yeah, i just made up a word) of haute couture, but. you can totally dress it down as well. which is yay imho!

since it’s bubblegum weekend, i decided to wear a hair i picked up from FLF a little while ago. i am loving the new colors from lamb, but this one (called my little pony omgaaahh!) is probably my favorite out of the bunch. super bright pink, a nice vibrant purple, and even a li’l white there in the mix makes for insanely awesome hair. i can’t seem to resist the pink and purple hair anymore, it’s slowly making my folder of hair double in size. but oddly enough, i am totally okay with this~ ;p

and this tank, from candydoll, is out for lazy sunday this week.. along with a second tank in white with another design across the chest. i *love*… lovelovelovelove these tanks (same tank that i blogged here, in fact!), the fit is nice && just low cut enough to be sexy without being.. overly so. 😉 it looks great under a vest, ooooobviously, but would be just as cute on it’s own.. or under a hoodie… or with a sweater over top.. or.. /me rambles on && on

bff vivi && i has a new home! \o/ she and i spent *all* night last night moving things around, decorating, discussing what we wanna do with our prims and land… it’s overwhelming and exciting all at once.

and just as a head’s up, since i moved.. that means my store will be moving as well. i’m not sure when i’ll get around to moving the build but at the moment, it’s *closed*. just temporarily, though. :3

but since i’m so in looooooove with our new land, i decided to take my bloggity pics there today. it’s all beachy, and maybe a li’l empty, but it’s so prettyyyy. be jelly.

i’m showing off some *new* goodies from hod today, but they aren’t piercings.. *gasp*… they’re hair accessories. hence the different hair styles, eh heh. the celtic swirl hair picks are out for la venta eventa this week and are a lovely, unique take on what could be typical hair chopsticks.

and, if you picked up the swirled dimple piercings from the waffle fox hunt not too long ago, they match the new hair picks very nicely!

i’m wearin’ them in updo hair, y’know.. to keep my buns in place (pun totally intended), but they work in a *wide* variety of hair styles. there are different textures (including a *new* midnight texture i’ve not seen before! squeeeeeee~) for the picks && different ways to wear ’em — i’m showing off the dual picks, but there are singles in the pack, too. they’re unisex, which is always a plus, and totally look just as hot on guys as they do on me on the ladies. aaaaaaand they’re easy to fit/easy to link to your favorite hairs if you’re short on attachment points. win all the way around~ ❤❤

and my tee, if it makes absolutely no sense to you, means you aren’t on plurk — and i’d just like to ask you… why the *fuck* not!? you’re srsly missin’ out (and you should totally add me if you’re on there!) and the t-shirt i’m wearing is by rezipsa loc. it’s out @ the gatcha festival along with a bunch of others, all with a plurk references written across the chest. super cute! and i may or may not have fed rezzie’s gatcha a shit ton of lindens trying to get the (cozy) tee… *ahem*

sometimes….

most of the time, i will write (and write… and write… and write) here in my blog && enjoy every last lil bit of it. i like to write, as evidenced by the way i tend to ramble sometimes ;), so for me… the written part of blogging usually comes easy.

but sometimes… there’s nothing more to say than what can be said through the photos i’ve taken. sometimes… there’s nothing else i can better explain in words than i can show to you in pictures. and sometimes… i do a look for fun && have such a good time photographing it that i take a thousand snapshots and rambling on and on about it in words would.. only diminish how proud i am of how it all turned out.

can i tell you how *excited* it makes me when a favorite store of mine is having a sale!? i get all giddy && giggly and my lindens start burnin’ a hole in my pocket. there’s nothing like the thrill of a good sale, riiiiiiight?

the corset (of which i can *never* seem to have enough!), skirt && stockings are all from roots. and when i think of the clothing i own from roots, i always think of nice quality.. lovely textures.. and the fact that everything i’ve ever bought from there makes me feel like i ooze the sexy. and who doesn’t want that!? haha~ low necklines, short hemlines, see-through mesh && juuuust enough to keep all the lady bits covered (mostly! teehee). if i’m going for that particular kinda look, ’cause y’know.. i like to be all *sex kitten* every once in a while ;), roots is definitely awesome for hookin’ a girl up.

keeping up with all the sales on the grid sometimes is a li’l overwhelming. i try to stay on top of it, but sometimes i just caaaan’t. you gotta be kinda picky when it comes to which sales you go to (or, if you’re me, you gotta actually *remember* what sales are goin’ on!), but they are worth it if your inventory is looking sparse. unlike mine, which seems to be a black hole for clothing and hair and shoes and skins. but even that doesn’t stop me from ravaging a good sale when i see one. it’s like i can’t stop myself!

pop of pink

i am guilty of doing it all. the. time. if you browse through the pages of my blog, you’ll see the same theme time && time again. but it’s a look i really happen to like (and i seem to do it frequently without even realizing it!) — wearing neutral or dark colors all over and having one item really stand out in a totally different, contrasting hue.

this time, it just so happens to be my hair!

i tend to go with accessories, like shoes && jewelry, for my *pop* of color in looks… but since it’s bubblegum weekend and all, i figured it only appropriate to have my hair be shocking pink instead. i picked up this style from exile not long ago and decided to give the unnatural colors a try… and just like the light blondes i love so much, exile’s pinks and purples and blues are totally gorgeous. ❤❤ and now that i’ve participated in bubblegum weekends a few times, i actually seek out the odd colors instead of just honing in on the white-bright-blondes. it’s all gogo’s fault.. /me shakes a fist!

but not to be outdone by my super bright hair, the accessories i am wearing add a lil fierce && a lil cute to my look.

the necklace, which is from a really inexpensive gatcha @ love soul (of which i spend *far* too much time stalking lucky chairs!), and it’s just… adorableness all over. i mean, it’s like a handheld-toy-sized bunny, on a big ass chain around my neck. what’s not to love?! the fact that it was only 35L a play made it that much better… and may or may not have caused me to have a whole *wardrobe* of big bear and big bunny necklaces sitting in my inventory. eh heh.

and the shoooooooooes. just look at them. spiked and black and hot pink soles! \o/ they were only 10L from nardcotix.. because they are the prize there for the platinum hunt. i haven’t even started the hunt fully, i’ve just snagged a few prizes from stores i’ve visited since it started, but if these shoes are any indication of the prizes waiting for me… then this go ’round of the hunt will be just as amazing as the last one was. bff vivi && i will probably tackle the hunt together next time we have a large chunk of free time together (and i’m sure i’ll rope her into blogging goodies with me, tee hee), but maaaaaaan. i love these shoes. i always love shoes from nardcotix, but insanely cheap shoes with *spikes* on them… these really should have vixxie written on the sides. srsly.
