fading fast

it seems like summer 2012 is fading fast — august really went by in a blur && september is *right* around the corner. and while i know summer doesn’t officially end until the latter part of next month, it always feels like summer is over when august ends.

…which was the perfect excuse to break out a bikini. y’know, one last time before summer ends.

the top i’m wearing here over the swimsuit is from cold logic && in case you’ve not heard, the entire store is set to *50%* for the next few days. i visited, i grabbed a few things i’ve had my eye on, and i saved myself a good chunk of lindens. and this top was a definite surprise — when i demo’d, i wasn’t expecting the sweeping criss-cross back. it made it perfect for a bathing suit cover up, but i can totally see wearing it with jeans or shorts for a cute, breezy look.

and the swimsuit..

it is *mesh* and it is free from sakide for the pink ribbon fair hunt. the pink ribbon fair itself is for a wonderful cause (one that’s dear to my heart — for the american cancer society) && sakide has several offerings there including a suuuuuuper sexy baby pink latex outfit(!), but this set of *four* mesh bikinis is out at the mainstore for hunting. go grab it while you can! you only have until august 25th to do so!

but with bikinis, come skin. lots of skin. so i figured it only fitting to show off a new candydoll skin while soaking up some last minute summer sun.

this miranda face from candydoll (seen above in all base makeups) is *stunning*. i always like rebeca dembo’s skins, but this one…. there’s something different about her that i am seriously loving. i think she suits my shape pretty perfectly — the face is soft and pretty && the makeups range from subtle to bold.

but that’s not all…

beyond having four tones to pick from (latte, as i’m wearing above, as well as cream, caramel and choco), and having hairbase options and varying cup sizes… there are *also* fourteen lip color tattoos for lots of mixing and matching.

i am only showing but a small sample here of the possibilities, but there are the seven essential lipsticks && the seven extra lipsticks available so you can pair your favorite eye shadow and your favorite lip at once. each lip also comes with or without teeth (the teeth versions are shown above on the cream and choco skintones) and offers a *ton* of possibilities~

sales, new skins and one very sexy set of bikinis. i’d say it’s worth it to push that summery feeling all the way to the end, what say you? 😉

catch up

maaaaaaaaan.. rl has been kickin’ my ass lately. i figured after i moved that i’d have more time but nope, it doesn’t seem that way. between trying to unpack, dealing with intermittent internet (which is more frustrating than you can possibly imagine, for realsies) && trying to do *everything else* i normally do… it takes my sl-time down to about nada.

however!

this weekend has been kind to me && i found some time to blog a few things i’ve been meaning to blog for an entire *week* now. so yayyy for holiday weekends! \o/

this pretty dress i’m wearing here is *new* from stellar and i absolutely *love* this white, blue && pink color-combo. it’s just so lovely — the kind of sun dress i could seriously live in during the warmer months of the year. it’s simple, but i like it that way… nothin’ is easier to wear than a cute, girly dress (especially when you take one look at your large virtual wardrobe && think “ugh i have *nothing* to wear!!”, amirite?).

i’m also wearing a *new* skin from candydoll today… which i’ve been wanting to show off here. this michelle face is all kinds of sweet && innocent, complete with a li’l dusting of freckles right across the nose (that i adore, btw). check her out!

the talented rebeca dembo did somethin’ different with this skin this time — you get mix-and-match versions of her usual pretty makeups on the tattoo layer as well as a bare-faced skin to doll up. the lip color && eye shadow tatts are each separate, which adds *so* much customization it’s not even funny. i’m showing each of the lip colors above on the latte skin tone above, which range from soft and nude to bright and *pink*…

…and here, in the caramel tone, are all of the eye shadows. smokey black, rich green, even a bright yellow. lots of choice && tons of ways to wear your favorite color combos.

all of the skin tones are just gorgeous && each has its own set of make up tattoos (and each tone is sporting those freckles… i *did* mention i love those, right?). but there’s *also* hair bases, a no-brow skin, and layers for varying cup sizes as well. i really appreciate all of these options, it spoils me so. ❤

oh, and lastly! this hair! a *new* subscribo gift ponytail from truth.. in a delicious fat pack. it’s mesh && it’s *wonderful*.. and if you’ve not gotten it, brave the lag and smack the subscribo board!

class act

it is absolutely beautiful outside today — warm and sunny and bright with just the slightest hint of a breeze. and since it is so gorgeous and springy in my rl, i decided to recreate the lovely springtime feeling while snappin’ bloggity pics in my sl as well~

the sea salts sim was a *perfect* backdrop.. the entire build is all kinds of wonderful. i took several snaps of just the landscape, which i’ll add in at the end of the post, because it was so nicely done. i had a lot of fun wandering through the paths && patches of grass and flowers… and of course, i had fun posing myself, too, amidst all of it while trying to show off my look for today.

i dressed all around these *mesh* pants from aura.. which, to be fair, i’m a *little* slow on grabbing for myself. but when bff vivi and i visted the fashionably late sale the other day && i saw these pants were there.. *and* they were marked half off? i had no excuse not to pick up a pair! the fit on these are great — low-cut, but not enough that my entire booty is hangin’ out, with some retro flared legs && lots of tweed patterns to choose from. different lengths are also included, depending on whether you decide to wear flats or heels with ’em, and the shape as a whole was just… flattering.

so i added one of the *new* mesh tanks from cold logic, a super high && super sexy ponytail from ploom, some heels i picked up ages ago from deco (i *think* they were a fifty linden friday offering back then.. here’s hopin’ they are still available!), and a few nerdy accessories… y’know… since the pants are called *class act* and all. i snagged these glasses from december (and truth be told, i love the way i look in glasses :X i am always, always tempted to make reading glasses be more of a *staple* in my virtual wardrobe, the way piercings && tattoos are) and a space invaders(!!!) inspired necklace from love always. this necklace, honestly, was *slove* at first sight — not only is it color-change, but the design… oh it feeds that inner geek inside me. love it!

pretty sim, a casual look, && some *beautiful* weather in my first life as well as my second… today was a good day for me! i hope everyone else’s mid-week is going just as smoothly! ❤❤

*new* skin at candydoll!

rebeca dembo‘s latest skin, naomi, is full of pastel prettiness that i am looooving. and it seemed appropriate, somehow, to show off this face with some equally pretty-in-pastel hair colors that are also *new* at ploom — tri-colored hair, in shades of pink, blue, purple, yellow && red that are *so* lovely!

makeups from left to right ::
natural, pink, blue, cherry, black (my personal fave!), green, purple

seen above is the latte skintone in all of the makeup choices, all with dark, smokey eyes && light glossy lips. candydoll skins always have *such* pretty faces, soft and smooth and cute, and this new skin is no exception.

you also get options for breast cup size (which i *love*, being a .. smaller girl, myself), hairbase or no hairbase, and fatpacks include *11* lipstick tattoos for you to mix && match with. i adore having options like these, it not only gives you a lot of value.. but also gives you so many ways to customize your own personal look.

in the picture above, i’m wearing the black eyeshadow option in all skintones, but with a dark pink lip tattoo.. a combo that does not come on the base skins (the black eye makeup comes with a peachy lip on the skin itself) but is possible with the extra lip color layers. you can be as bold && dramatic as you like, or as subdued && natural as you like, and i really appreciate when options like this are included!

i dressed around my shoes today (and am actually wearin’ pants, surprisingly, considering what i said in this post right here, ahaha)… and what amazing, amazing shoes they are.

don’t worry, there’s a close up of ’em further down. 😉

they’re new from gos && are out @ the fashion for life event (that’s where i picked ’em up, but they are available at the mainstore, too!) and i absolutely adore them. they are… delicious boots. i also blogged the eyes from insufferable dastard available at the FFL event yesterday, and am wearin’ a second pair in another gorgeous color in this look today… but i thought since i didn’t mention the event at all in my last post, that i would today.

time to get a li’l bit personal~

cancer… hits very close to home for me. i lost my dad to cancer 14 years ago && even to this day, it is something i still struggle to deal with. he went through chemo, through countless surgeries, and spent more time in the hospital in his last few months than he did at home. he was sick for a very long time and when i lost him, words cannot truly describe how much hurt i felt. how much i still feel.

so an event like fashion for life… i went with bff vivi and we bought donation items and, in our own li’l way, supported a cause in the hopes that maybe our lindens can help prevent another family going through what i went through. that maybe someone else’s father won’t lose the battle in the (hopefully near) future.

plus, you get some fantastic items in return for your donations.. so it truly is win-win to visit the various sims && pick yourself up some nice new shinies. somehow, the items look even better on when you know you bought them to support a really fantastic cause.

all donation items are clearly marked, so make sure you visit your favorite stores on the FFL sims and, at the very least, take a peek at the donation goodies. it really is worth the effort.. ’cause every little bit counts. ❤

super bendy

i love pose props. they’re all-in-one awesome sauce, i usually don’t have to do anything other than sit my tiny butt on them. but i’m picky about what props i buy or use, though, even if i love them.. because i don’t need a prop with a thousand && one standing poses.. right? i have a ton of standing poses already! what i look for are unique poses, and a cute prop on top of it.. and when i find one i like…

…it’s a beautiful thing.

the prop i’m using today is a collaboration between evolve && aura — two stores i adore. and when i rezzed this prop for the first time, it made me all tingly inside (’cause yeah, i do get that pumped about poses, okay!?). there was a lot of.. bendiness in the poses. lots of action, lots of sexy, lots of *fun* in these poses.. so i am wearing my best yes, i do yoga and really am that flexible tyvm kind of “sportswear” to show off a few of my favorite poses~

there’s a lot more packed into it than i’m showing off here. the box itself is color change, you can sit multiple people on it, and there is a *ton* of other poses that i’m not showcasing… which are equal amounts cute, flirty and very bendy indeed.

plus, i’ve been pretty much living in shorts in world as of late. i’m sort of.. denying that the temperature could possibly still dip below 60 in march && am fully embracing the coming spring with wide, open arms. so it was a nice excuse not to have to wear… *shudder*… pants for a post && was rather fitting to be in teeny tiny shorts since i was tryin’ to be all athletic and junk. though, to be fair, some actual yoga pants probably would’ve worked too.. and woulda made my ass look good in the process. so. there’s always that going for pants.

lazy weekends

/me yawns && stretches…

mmmnhh.. such a lazy day today~

i didn’t do much of anything all day. slept late, watched TV (catching up on episodes from last season’s rupaul’s drag race… can i just say how *fucking obsessed* i am with this show!? omgaaaah!).. i barely left the comfort of my couch. and it was *nice*, i’ve not had the chance to vegetate this way in a looo~ooong time.

but i did put forth the effort to get dressed out of my PJs. ;p and i figured i should blog today, even if this post is on the cusp of today and tomorrow. i wanted to show off the lazy comfy look i put together for today, at least… but i didn’t feel much like posing and primping for it.

so instead, i moved my lounging from the couch to lounging outside.. from sofa to outdoor swing instead!

it’s baby steps, honey. baby steps.

and apparently, one of my meeroos felt like sneaking into the shot. i totes think she photo bombed me. but she’s cute, so i’ll allow it. everyone say hi to nymph~

it was nice out today, surprisingly. a li’l chilly (hence the hat from red mint && the super cute mesh toe socks from intrigue co, just to keep me warm!), but still sunny. it makes me hopeful that spring is finally on its way. i’ve been trying to think of ways to make our beachy bit o’ land more.. seasonal. add back some greenery, maybe a few extra palm trees, and really make it look.. lush. as it is, it’s pretty much sand, water && house (a very nicely decorated house, tho! eheh~), and i am ready for the extra warmth and sunshine to come back to my second life just like it is in my first. or at least, i’m really hoping it’s coming back to my first life.. i’ve been so itching for springtime weather that i’m practically going insane.

this outdoor swing was a good start to make things look more springy. it’s out for stumblebum @ cheeky pea and comes with a *ton* of nice, lounging poses… which were perfect for my lazy day today. it’s in a temporary spot outside, so i’ll have to think of a nicer place for it to go, but it caught just enough sunshine to appease me underneath our outdoor trellis.

maybe once i’m feeling less lazy, i’ll actually work on sprucing up the parcel with plant life. after all, nothing says *spring* quite like bright flowers and rich green grass. it was just so tough today to get the motivation to do anything… and i *still* have that season of drag race to finish (it’s season 3.. and i totes think raja is gonna win!). i swear, i’ve been watching so much of it lately between the older season and the new episodes too (sharon needles.. love her ❤❤❤) that i’m gonna start thinking i’m a drag queen myself..

if you can’t love yo’ self.. how in the hell you gon’ love somebody else!? can i get an amen up in here!

happy february! \o/ one month already zipped by in 2012 in the blink of an eye, i swear it… but february is a good month! one step closer to spring (which i am honestly *craving* — i’m a li’l tired of the snow && cold!), my birthday…… *ahem* (i turn 28 towards the end of the month, egad @_@) and of course… valentine’s day~

i put a girly girly look together today, using a vday palette in mind, with a couple things from the new round o’ stumblebum. luckily for me, the color choices for this collection of stumblebum goodies were reds, pinks && white… which made making a casual-yet-cute valentine ensemble raaaaaaather easy!

plus, i honestly *love* the way red && hot pink look together.. and it seems as though the first fourteen days of february are the only appropriate times to wear them together. so it was a nice excuse!

the stripey skirt, from boom, and the *gorgeous* pink eyes, from insufferable dastard are just two of the offerings in this round of stumble. the skirt so reminds me of spring — crisp white cotton, striped with two vibrant colors …. ugh, i really hope good ole punxsutawney phil predicts an early spring for us tomorrow. i could seriously go for some more spring time weather, the last few days in my rl i’ve been enjoying temperatures above 40 for a change. it’s been so nice~

but, that was a completely irrelevant tangent. xD

back to the skirt! it’s flirty && cute, but totally works for vday if you’re needin’ an outfit. and since it’s out for stumble, it is the perfect time to shop early and have your outfit ready if you have plans. …which i am envious of, i need somethin’ fun to do on valentine’s day. ;/

i paired the skirt with one of my favorite tanks from candydoll, some *new* rose-decorated heels from purrfect 10 (which allow you to change the colors of the roses to suit your own vday attire~), and a pretty updo from magari. simple, even by my own standards, but cute nonetheless! and maaaaaaybe i was feeding my own desire for an early spring with the bare arms && skirt combo. but at least in sl, i won’t freeze myself to the bone if i run around in hoping for spring, but still wanting a valentine kinda clothes. now all i need is a chivalrous date to offer me his jacket…. *schemes*

i know i blogged this new sweater from epic already the other day, but! these *new* metallic-colored alex strap heels from g field prompted me to wear this top again — the pink gold pair of pumps match the baby pink version of this sweater perfectly. i totally needed an excuse to snag these shoes, this peachy-pink color is *gorgeous* && i most definitely need more of this shade in my slife. ❤

this noellia skin is so lovely — the face is so soft && so cute. i really adore the makeup choices this time around, the cherry-bomb eye && lip combo is something i’ve not seen on a candydoll skin as of yet and i looooooove it! and as always, this skin comes with a ton of options… there’s different brow colors (the lighter blonde color is what i’m wearing above on the tattoo layer, but there’s darker brows included too), several different cup-sizes, and all the lip colors come on tattoo layers as well for easy mix ‘n’ match~

all of the skintones have a nicely shaded && highlighted body and varying intensities of the same makeups. i love the face candydoll’s skins give me — innocent, sweet, and exceptionally girly with all the pastel lip colors. noellia does not disappoint.. she’s such a pretty new face from rebeca dembo && i think this skin is stunning!
