halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.

so, apparently i like quoting mean girls… but! i figured it was a fitting quote, considering the costumes bff vivi && i are wearing in my post for today..

i’ve done creepy, i’ve done cute, i’ve done character cosplay…. time for somethin’ simply sexy for halloween! and there is little that’s sexier than two playboy bunnies.

all we need is a nice tray of martinis to serve..

aaaaanyway! the key to these looks are these mesh bodysuits from hucci. we both picked these up @ collabor88 several rounds ago, but thankfully these sets are still available at the hucci mainstore. vivienne is wearing the entire set here — including the cuffs, collar, ears && tail — and these are *perfect* for a halloween costume all in one.

i accessorized my look with an rabbit ear ‘n’ tail set i picked up from o.m.e.n. (because i was trying to better match my ears/tail to my hair color.. is that weird?), which includes several sets of these *adorable* bunny ears and tails in a bunch of color choices. these sets are so cute, as is the kitsune set i wore here, and i love that the ears come in straight-up versions as well as the one-ear-bent variation i’m wearing here~

add in some super high heels from n-core, bright red lipstick (mine from pink fuel, vivi’s from glam affair) && a cute stage set that i picked up by focus poses… and you’ve got two very sexy (just in my humble opinion ;P) playboy bunnies. now who wants a cocktail?

sometimes, halloween is about… indulgences. the holiday gives you free reign to dress up as whatever you like. a vampire, a ghost, a zombie…. anything that tickles your fancy.

so today, it’s actually my best friend who inspired these costumes. bff vivi is *all* about the anime, so when we found a few key accessories on the marketplace..

…i knew i’d have to indulge her, just a li’l bit.

these mesh heads from utilizator are all kinds of awesome — i’m wearing the regular female version but vivienne is wearing the *chibi* style (and is so cute i could scream x3) — and are chalk full of options. there are several facial expressions, including different mouth and eyebrow positions, as well as different eye styles and colors… and each come in three skin tones, with matching skins and head pieces, for tons of customization.

these would be fantastic for cosplay in sl — emulating a favorite character from an anime or manga series would be a breeze with these head pieces — but they also work for making up your own types of characters like vivi && i have done.

she and i decided to dress as close as we could get to *anime schoolgirls*, with her outfit coming from collabor88 by r2. when the collection rolled over at the beginning of the month && we saw these sailor suits out… vivienne and i both knew we had to do something with them for halloween. luckily for us, rei2 aya made some *fantastic* mesh pieces that were perfect for the looks we were going for and vivi looks so freakin’ cute in this outfit.

mine, on the other hand, comes from monso… and i *love* it. the version i grabbed comes with a bunch of color options for every single part of the outfit — from the trim on the jacket to different styles and colors for the tie at the neck — and is wonderfully constructed. it was absolutely perfect for a schoolgirl look && i spent much longer than i’d care to admit, just pushing buttons on the HUD to see all the color combinations.

while vivi went with a lunchbox (from love soul), i decided to wear a backpack.. one i’ve had from pink fuel for a very long time now. i’m glad i had it, it really came in handy for adding just that li’l extra touch to my costume, and i mean.. it’s pink fuel. and it’s a bunny. you cannot go wrong!

i always tend to lean on the scarier side of halloween, but that doesn’t mean every costume has to be freaky ‘n’ blood-soaked. being super adorable works just as well, too!

ps. these last four pics were taken in a photo booth on the love soul sim… while they turned out adorable, i’ve no idea what the text says across the top of each panel (i just kinda mashed buttons on the dialog box until the backdrop was cute enough). here’s hoping it’s appropriate!

shades of gray

not *fifty*, but just a few. ;P

so! bff vivi && i raced to g field the other day when we saw these new beth ankle booties released. and we both, once we stopped drooling all over the demos, snagged ’em in gray and black. we could not resist playin’ dress up with them and thus… these looks were born.

these boots are *so* great for fall — which the weather for me in my rl is lookin’ more and more like autumn — and they’re designed to perfection. the laces, metal && soles are all color-change no matter which color of boot you pick up.. and the overall shape and texturing on these is just wonderful.

the booties were also released with a set of floral-patterned tights (which are set out @ the ridiculously affordable price of just *50L* per color!) which vivienne is wearing here in the black-and-gray combo. and this look she put together here, with a longer tunic (from villena) and leggings and boots all works together in a trendy, but casual outfit. comfy, but still cute!

i decided to take the boots in a different direction — dressing them “up” a little bit with lots o’ layers. a short-sleeved lace cami (from sn@tch) underneath a cropped mesh top i grabbed from ison… and i, too, am wearin’ tights (from izzie’s) with my shorter pencil-style skirt from mon tissu.

and, because we’re best friends && it’s just what we do, we’re both wearing pink and purple versions of the necklaces by maxi gossamer from the arcade gatcha event. mine was actually a gift from vivi (making it even more special, d’aww ❤) and provided not only a nice pop of color amidst all the black and gray, but also gives a best friends necklace effect.

fading fast

it seems like summer 2012 is fading fast — august really went by in a blur && september is *right* around the corner. and while i know summer doesn’t officially end until the latter part of next month, it always feels like summer is over when august ends.

…which was the perfect excuse to break out a bikini. y’know, one last time before summer ends.

the top i’m wearing here over the swimsuit is from cold logic && in case you’ve not heard, the entire store is set to *50%* for the next few days. i visited, i grabbed a few things i’ve had my eye on, and i saved myself a good chunk of lindens. and this top was a definite surprise — when i demo’d, i wasn’t expecting the sweeping criss-cross back. it made it perfect for a bathing suit cover up, but i can totally see wearing it with jeans or shorts for a cute, breezy look.

and the swimsuit..

it is *mesh* and it is free from sakide for the pink ribbon fair hunt. the pink ribbon fair itself is for a wonderful cause (one that’s dear to my heart — for the american cancer society) && sakide has several offerings there including a suuuuuuper sexy baby pink latex outfit(!), but this set of *four* mesh bikinis is out at the mainstore for hunting. go grab it while you can! you only have until august 25th to do so!

but with bikinis, come skin. lots of skin. so i figured it only fitting to show off a new candydoll skin while soaking up some last minute summer sun.

this miranda face from candydoll (seen above in all base makeups) is *stunning*. i always like rebeca dembo’s skins, but this one…. there’s something different about her that i am seriously loving. i think she suits my shape pretty perfectly — the face is soft and pretty && the makeups range from subtle to bold.

but that’s not all…

beyond having four tones to pick from (latte, as i’m wearing above, as well as cream, caramel and choco), and having hairbase options and varying cup sizes… there are *also* fourteen lip color tattoos for lots of mixing and matching.

i am only showing but a small sample here of the possibilities, but there are the seven essential lipsticks && the seven extra lipsticks available so you can pair your favorite eye shadow and your favorite lip at once. each lip also comes with or without teeth (the teeth versions are shown above on the cream and choco skintones) and offers a *ton* of possibilities~

sales, new skins and one very sexy set of bikinis. i’d say it’s worth it to push that summery feeling all the way to the end, what say you? 😉

after seeing the pretty crossing currents sim on strawberry singh‘s post, photobombed, i knew i had to take pictures there eventually.

so when bff vivi && i decided we needed to prance around in swimsuits for a few bloggity pics, i knew exactly where to take her!

except, she and i didn’t get photobombed… i kept an eye out for that bird berry mentioned… but i didn’t see it *anywhere*. nothing out of the ordinary popped up in the background of my photos..

so strange, right? where *did* that bird go?

no matter!

spring means getting beach body ready, right? and vivienne && i thought we’d get a li’l practice in, before swimsuit season *officially* gets here. there are some bathing suits out there on the grid already, which ended up being most helpful while we were putting together our summery looks~

mine, for instance, is from stellar — which just released a whole new collection of bathing suits that are more on the *modest* side. i can appreciate that, considering that the vast majority of swimwear out there right now leaves very little to the imagination, and these new tankinis are so cute! plus, just because i’m a li’l more covered up, doesn’t mean i can’t be sexy.. just look at that peek of booty on those shorts! ;D

vivi went with a more traditional bikini, that she picked up from a new-to-us store called the bishes inc. these ‘kinis came in a ton of color choices && are nicely made.. she and i both really liked the ties at the hips. simple, cute and inexpensive too… which is always nice, ’cause a girl could go broke buyin’ swimwear, for reals~

i’m still not sure where that bird got to, though. perhaps he didn’t like us as much as he liked berry? i’m not sure! but i was expecting to be photobombed by him && ended up not seeing him at all… very peculiar, indeed.

maitreya mesh

so it seems that… the things i get most excited about these days are mesh releases from my favorite brands. even though mesh went grid-wide last summer, it’s still *new* and exciting and i’m still sort of getting a feel for the types of mesh clothing, accessories && hair that i prefer. some things, i like better in regular ole prims && sculpties.. while some other things, i definitely like better in mesh.

with every release of new mesh goodies, i’m seeing things get better and better. and the latest release of mesh stuffs from maitreya had bff vivi && i *so* excited to demo (and buy.. *cough*).

skirts, leggings, boots, jeans… there was lots of awesome released! i went practically *insane* over the new mesh jeans, while vivi had her eye on the leggings (since she picked up the similar pair out @ the epoch event) and skirts. but we both came out of maitreya happily with our respective purchases && put together two looks to show ’em all off!

the jeans… hnnngghh! are just wonderful. i love the colors they come in, i love the zipper detail on the cuffs, and i *really* love the way my ass looks in the jeans. that’s an important part of purchasing jeans, in any life, and the ones from maitreya do not disappoint in the booty department. 😉 i still seem to have a larger leg gap than normal with these jeans too, just like i had with the mon tissu pair, but in all honesty… the more i wear mesh jeans, from either brand, the less i care about the “dreaded” thigh gap. for me, personally, it’s not as bad as it could be && does not make me love these jeans (or the mon tissu pair) any less.

vivienne was immediately drawn to the bright *hot pink* color in these leggings (i wonder if, perhaps, i’m rubbing off on her? ;p), so she decided to go all over pink by pairing the maitreya leggings and skirt with a top she grabbed from celoe in a matching shade. and with the addition of white slink ankle boots, the blocks of crisp white and contrasting vibrant color looks very.. 80s to me && i *like* that, a lot. she was able to layer the leggings and skirt together by wearing one size smaller in the leggings than she normally would, but wearing her normal size in the skirt, and they worked together nicely without any strange clipping.

we both completed our looks with mesh hair, too — hers from magika and mine, from exile — and some accessories from love soul, amorous (which is having a 50% off *sale* right now!) && mandala.

kinda casual, but springy && meshy outfits for today! if you’ve not gone && demo’d the hell out of the new maitreya items, it’s worth it to try! and there’s a *free* gift set out for group members right by the room full of all the new releases — one of the mesh pencil skirts, in a lovely pattern, is the gift and is totally worth snagging while you can!

yeeeeeup.

i know it’s a li’l obscured by my hair && my purse strap, but that’s what my shirt says. it’s new from blah and i was *so* amused by it that i had to blog it. and to me, it sounds so sarcastic (which is right up my alley, i speak sarcasm fluently~) that i dressed both with cute pieces && a bit ..anti-cute along with it, just to go “theme”.

i also felt like going with contrasts in other ways — gray top && gray bottoms, but with some *seriously* colorful accessories. gray and teal look lovely together, as does gray and yellow, so all three at once made for a nice combo. ..imho. 😉 and i’ve been needing an excuse to use this bag from toki doki, that li’l owl face is so cute i could just die. thankfully it matched (or matched as best as the rest of me “matches”, bahaha), but i probably would’ve used it anyway. owl purses are most *definitely* kawaiiiii~

what makes you happy?

pink hair makes me happy. whale-shaped gloves *definitely* make me happy. mesh eyelashes… make me so happy i could squeal. birthdays make me happy……

oh, and speaking of birthdays 😉 (you like that awesome segue!? bahahah~).. my rl birthday is *tomorrow*, the 23rd! \o/ and i am so, so excited to celebrate.

sometimes, you just need a good excuse to be goofy and let off some steam. to be unabashedly happy && smile until your cheeks hurt. to laugh, to be loud, to have a fantastic time. and with the help of bff vivi and a few of my other rl friends (what? they exist!! ;P), i plan to do just that!

it seemed only fitting to pose for a few bloggity pics being just as happy, silly && smiley in my sl as i am in my rl. birthdays often make you feel *old*, and sad subsequently, but i am just as excited for mine now as i was when i was a little kid. and it’s simply because i’ll be celebrating with my amazing friends, some good food, and a drink (or twelve).

so today, bff vivi && i were *determined* to do something. something romantic, something fun, something.. befitting of the day. usually, she and i aren’t all super excited over valentine’s day… because, really, you should be showing the people you love just how much you love them *everyday* rather than just once a year… but once we recruited two of our friends to go out with us for the evening, just for fun, we both became increasingly enthused about vday.

we decided to get all girlied up, in pink and red, and be.. festive. cute. pretty. and i think we succeeded…

hearts and bows and chocolates and bright red and soft pink. very valentines indeed!

we were expecting our friends, allarik and braden, to follow suit. i mean, it *is* valentine’s day, and even though we didn’t set a dress code.. it’s definitely not out of the ordinary for us to be anticipating… say… a nice suit. maybe a tux? shiny shoes, pinstriped slacks, a flower pinned to the lapel. y’know, something nice && dapper.

instead, we got..

..two smug boys in jeans, sneakers && hoodies. grr.

the guys, apparently, were not so excited about valentine’s day as vivienne && i were. and they didn’t even expect us to be *doing* much of anything, much to our dismay. but vivi and i were thinking about spending a romantic night dancing, maybe at a jazz club, and make it a *real* date for the evening. our companions, on the other hand.. not so much.

so vivienne and i had to do a li’l.. convincing.

a few romantic poses seemed to do the trick rather nicely…

…and turned the tides in our favor.

after a few snuggles here ‘n’ there, suddenly our dates seemed *much* more eager to do all things romantic. it’s a wonder how easily they were convinced. ;p

and even though they’re certainly not *dressed* for the occasion, at least allarik && braden are much more compliant. now all we need is a nice club to hit up, where we can finish the night off the way we originally intended to!

blinding

lime green, hot pink && teal.. i’d say that’s pretty blindingly bright, what say you?

i really, really missed bubblegum weekends. it’s fun for a change to run around with kool-aid colored hair! and i guess gogo && i were on the same wavelength when it came to bubblegum weekends this round, ’cause we kiiiinda match! but this *insanely bright* and adoooorable lingerie set from katatonik out @ the crush on you event was far too cute to pass up. even if i wasn’t tryin’ to do lingerie && nothin’ but until vday, this set would have found its way into my inventory. i *love* the colors, i love all the accessories (there’s li’l attachable bows for just about everywhere! \o/) && i love the fact that you get exactly 342348 pieces to wear the set in different ways.

i decided to go lime for this post.. just because i am fairly certain i’ve *never* worn green hair in world. ;X and the *new* mesh hair i’m wearing from exile was *perfect* for it — i adore exile’s textures, but this green was so vibrant and so happy and actually matched that i decided green was a good choice for this week. plus the fact that this hair is mesh means i pretty much fell in love with it instantly. and the name of it not only got this song stuck in my head, but also made me pine *so hard* for some warmer weather. i know, as soon as it gets here, i’ll be wishin’ for snow && ice.. but man. i just got several inches of snow today in my rl and i am desperate for some sunshine and warmth!

at least in sl, i can have endless summer if i really want (and can run around the entire grid in mah underpants && not freeze my tatas off)… but waaaaaaaant in my rl too, damnit!
