witch

it’s getting *clooooooser*! only *two* more days until halloween.. are you excited as i am!?

the costume look i’ve got for today is another one for halloween on a budget. i already did one costume on the cheap && today, i’ve got a second one~

i know it’s already made rounds on the feeds, but i could *not* resist blogging this dress from g field myself. it’s *free* and so adorable.. and perfectly halloween. and i immediately saw it as a very appropriate dress for a witch to wear.

so i added in some more free accessories.. like the orange ‘n’ black nails + bracelet combo i’m wearing here is a *group gift* for candy nail group members. you know i love my prim nails && the gifts from candy nail are always lovely, so i was excited to see these out for the taking. the set comes with a pair of earrings as well, which i’m not wearing here, but it all works well for adding in some extra halloween colors into a look.

the li’l one-tooth’d pumpkin i’m hugging above, as well as the bats i had swirling all around me (which look *amazing* but are so hard to photograph! but they’re there, i promise! eh heh) are both vip group gifts from epic. if you’re in need of some more halloween goodies, the epic group is *so* worth the price of admission. jade winthorpe is always generous to her groupies && there are lots of halloween-themed gifts for group members… currently, there’s a pumpkin backpack, the pumpkin i’m hugging here, the animated bats (which you’ll just have to go and grab to see for yourself, my pics don’t really do ’em justice), a mesh dress in three different designs and a pair of faun hooves that are *all* free to group members.

the spider pendant necklace i’ve got on is a *dollarbie* from kosh.. the hat i’m wearing is part of a set that comes in several different colors that’s out @ sakide, which gives you a *lot* of bang for your buck (the set includes the hat, a dress, boots, and gloves!)… and even the pumpkin-holding poses i used here from magnifique are cute, inexpensive and include all the pumpkins you’d ever need for posing *or* rezzing around for decorations.

so now there’s no excuse! with so many freebies && cheapies on the grid for halloween, you seriously have to dress up with me! >3

a queen && her minion

i’m (an evil) queen for a day..

…complete with my very own minion!

this look was *all* for fun.. and inspired by these adorable plastic crowns @ collabor88 by laviere. i knew i had to do an evil fairy queen kind of look with this crown and my *petite* li’l friend here was more than willing to dress up with me. she seemed to think she was a teeny tiny princess, but alas… she is my minion instead! /me cackles maniacally….

anyway!

this costume all started with the crown, but it really came together when i started playing around in my inventory. i got lucky with the halloween gatchas @ the depraved nation and was able to snag these super cute horns by chus in red… which matched this dress i’ve had for *ages* from katat0nik quite nicely. some freebie kiss-dotted stockings by sheer && a pair of color-change pumps from gos matched, too, and when i added the wings (because *every* evil fairy queen needs wings!) from epic and this wonderfully sparkly wand (because *every* evil queen needs a wand, too!) from love always.. this look suddenly became very evil-queenly indeed.

truth be told, i did most of the shopping for this look right in my own inventory. it’s a mixture of some older items && a few new ones, but i was really surprised how easy it came together. perhaps i was *meant* to be an evil queen.. like it’s kismet, y’know? i had most of the things to put together this look already, maybe i truly am an evil queen in disguise..

erm. i am evil, i assure you. i *am*, i swear!!

sometimes, halloween is about… indulgences. the holiday gives you free reign to dress up as whatever you like. a vampire, a ghost, a zombie…. anything that tickles your fancy.

so today, it’s actually my best friend who inspired these costumes. bff vivi is *all* about the anime, so when we found a few key accessories on the marketplace..

…i knew i’d have to indulge her, just a li’l bit.

these mesh heads from utilizator are all kinds of awesome — i’m wearing the regular female version but vivienne is wearing the *chibi* style (and is so cute i could scream x3) — and are chalk full of options. there are several facial expressions, including different mouth and eyebrow positions, as well as different eye styles and colors… and each come in three skin tones, with matching skins and head pieces, for tons of customization.

these would be fantastic for cosplay in sl — emulating a favorite character from an anime or manga series would be a breeze with these head pieces — but they also work for making up your own types of characters like vivi && i have done.

she and i decided to dress as close as we could get to *anime schoolgirls*, with her outfit coming from collabor88 by r2. when the collection rolled over at the beginning of the month && we saw these sailor suits out… vivienne and i both knew we had to do something with them for halloween. luckily for us, rei2 aya made some *fantastic* mesh pieces that were perfect for the looks we were going for and vivi looks so freakin’ cute in this outfit.

mine, on the other hand, comes from monso… and i *love* it. the version i grabbed comes with a bunch of color options for every single part of the outfit — from the trim on the jacket to different styles and colors for the tie at the neck — and is wonderfully constructed. it was absolutely perfect for a schoolgirl look && i spent much longer than i’d care to admit, just pushing buttons on the HUD to see all the color combinations.

while vivi went with a lunchbox (from love soul), i decided to wear a backpack.. one i’ve had from pink fuel for a very long time now. i’m glad i had it, it really came in handy for adding just that li’l extra touch to my costume, and i mean.. it’s pink fuel. and it’s a bunny. you cannot go wrong!

i always tend to lean on the scarier side of halloween, but that doesn’t mean every costume has to be freaky ‘n’ blood-soaked. being super adorable works just as well, too!

ps. these last four pics were taken in a photo booth on the love soul sim… while they turned out adorable, i’ve no idea what the text says across the top of each panel (i just kinda mashed buttons on the dialog box until the backdrop was cute enough). here’s hoping it’s appropriate!

i have a hat.

and it is awesome. :3

the newest releases from burley included this amazingly wavy hat-and-hair combo && i immediately fell in slooooooooove. the brushed-over bangs and this hat are just ridiculous amounts of awesome and i pretty much had to have it the moment i saw it.

so i put together an *urban casual* sort of look, befitting of my new hat~

i’m even wearing *two* freebies with this look — one of which, the glasses, i snagged @ swag fest from epic. i love a good pair of glasses && these oversized frames were not only *1L*, but they’re also infinitely color-change. i liked the way the dark gray checks here matched with my sweater (by erratic, which is out for the new round of fameshed!), but i just as easily could’ve gone with red or yellow or piiink… a fully customizable cheapie like this is awesome!

the necklace i’m wearing is also a freebie — a group gift from the jewellery exchange. i spied this li’l panda around tesh’s neck on the free*style blog && immediately went to snag him. this panda is *adorable* and for a gift is very nicely made. and did i mention the group is free to join, too? and that there’s a few other gifts there for the taking? 😉

and, okay, i know they’re not freebies.. but these spiked boots from slink *need* a mention here. i love them. i want to lick siddean munro for making them. the detail on these is *fantastic* and i adore every last one of those spikes dotting the boot. grabbing these in black was a no-brainer but the other colors are just as hot, too… especially in deep pink. they are wonderful and are so worth demoing, i guarantee you’ll grab a pair too just like i did~

the gorgeous mesh gown (by sakide), the *amazing* antlers (by ni.ju) && the floaty li’l butterfly that still photographs just do not do justice (from epic) are the items i’m wearing here from the faire — but there is so much more to buy and see. the builds are wonderful, there are so many designers offering goodies, and it is all for a fantabulous cause. it does not get much better than that!

if you haven’t visited (or you like leaving this ’til the last moment like me!), then you should go… riiiiiiight now… and see all there is to see at fantasy faire. but you need to hurry, as i said the event ends later on today!

vixxie vs the painting

so… as you know (or, as you should know if you read my blog! ;p).. bff vivi && i share a house on a beachy parcel of land. we’ve had it *almost* a year now, we moved there last summer, and she and i have been pretty good roommates thus far. i mean, she’s my bestie.. who would make a better roommate than her?

we share a lot of the “responsibilities” of having a house.. and that includes splitting the decorating between both of our tastes. thankfully, our preferences mesh pretty well together && we often love the same sort of decor.. so it’s usually not a problem.

or at least, it *wasn’t* a problem. until today.

enter… the painting. i walk into our living room today && it’s right there, in my face. this thing is easily twice my height, takes up the *entire* back wall, and is so bright and…. odd… that i actually stood there for a moment, trying to take it all in.

needless to say, my initial reaction was not great.

now, this living room (and i say this living room.. because we actually have *two* living rooms, currently) has been bright && colorful for a while now. vivienne and i are always switching things in and out (case in point, see this post where the couch is pink, not blue, and the rugs are different!) and rearranging items just to… change things up a bit.

however, the bff.. actually removed one of my paintings && moved a plant and a lamp out of the way, just to make room for this painting. this huge, blinding, strange ass painting.

but she’s my friend, so i figured i’d… try to give it a chance. and i thought since it was so colorful, i’d try to pose in front of it for some *normal* bloggity pics.. just to see if it made a decent backdrop.

and, admittedly, it *did* make a nice background. lots of color, lots of shapes, && the purple in the painting brought out the purple in the mesh pants i’m wearing (that, btw, are from epic out @ fashion for life — and it’s a donation item!!). it was interesting in the background, i *liked* how it looked behind me.

so i figured, what the hey…

…it can stay. i won’t return it to her, no matter how awful my first reaction to it was. she liked it, and it is half her home too, so i resigned myself to accepting the fact that the painting is staying. at least for now, or until we decide to empty the room and completely redecorate it — which happens rather often…. and can’t come again soon enough.

i’m…. i’m brunette?! O:

why yes, yes i am~

it’s the only color i’ve really *not* rocked in world much. i’ve been blonde (hah, understatement! i am almost always blonde), a red-head, gone dark to black and navy, worn bright colors like bubblegum pink and lavender and minty teal… but brown? there’s not been much brunette vixxie other than in a few shots for showing off skins… and i kinda like the brown, not gonna lie! :X

and mentioning skin posts.. i went brunette for my post for today because of the skin i’m wearing. i used to not let brow-color deter me from wearing my favorite blonde shades of hair, but the longer i’m in sl.. the more my tastes change. now if a skin doesn’t have light brows on it, i usually don’t buy it because i just *can’t* wear it with my preferred shade of light blonde. light brows are still definitely harder to find than dark, though some of my favorite brands always seem to include them (and that is why they are faves!), but sometimes.. i make exceptions.

this skin i’m wearing here, which is out for stumblebum @ aura is gooooooorgeous. this skin line has been all over the feeds since release && i can now totally see why. bff vivi has been wearing this skin, briar, around in world for a li’l bit && i think it looks stunning on her (totally! see here if you don’t believe me ;p).. so i was excited to try it for myself. and obvs, i liked it enough to go brunette *just* so i could wear it~ plus the three makeups out for stumble are bright and pretty and come with a ton of tattoo-layer lipsticks for mixin’ && matchin’. love!!

and yeah, there’s a new round of stumblebum out! like i said, the skin i’m wearing is out at aura.. but i’m also wearing several other stumble goodies~

the tee i’ve got on (sparkle pony omfg) is part of the set from kyoot, the beautiful eyes are from insufferable dastard (i love love lovelovelove these! the colors are just so pretty!), the ribbon && pearl necklace is from miao, the *adorable* cafe-esque table and chair are from mud honey && all of the standing poses in the pictures are above are part of the items out at frooti.

i also gotta give credit to gogo for showing off some home decor items.. the two posters on the wall behind me matched my color scheme perfectly && i never would’ve grabbed ’em had it not been for her blog. so cute!! and totally inexpensive, too~

sooooo, brunette huh? not too bad! it’s nice for a change.. and the best part? the mesh hair i’m wearing here from magika comes in such a *generous* color-pack that i didn’t even have to pick between buying blonde or brown.. i get both! makes switching colors when i feel the *whim* for it so much easier. \o/

it’s the day before vday and loooove is in the air. but just what are two single… *chaste && demure*.. bffs to do without plans?

okay, so the whole sweet and innocent thing doesn’t really work all that well when we’re wearing wet and erotic tshirts, but. ;p it was worth a shot.

these *20L* gatcha tees by sn@tch were far too *fun* not to play around with for a post. bff vivi && i spent soooo much time feeding the gatcha, trying to get all the t-shirts. i might have had a li’l streak of bad luck && got five of the shirts that say “dirty” across the chest in a row… while attempting to get the pink “virgin” version (oh, how funny).. but i swear the gatcha machine was just tryin’ to call me a dirty, dirty girl. ..for some unknown reason. 😉

and of course… vivienne && i had to show off our undies (both of which are from suicidal unborn.. and my skull-faced pair is part of a pack of *freebies!*), ’cause that’s the *theme* for this week and all, and there’s just somethin’ about a bright, shiny motorcycle that seemed fitting to pose in front of in our panties. there’s something undoubtedly sexy about a bike, perhaps how *dangerous* they can seem, but can you just imagine two cute girls all straddled on the bike in their undies? mmhmmmmm. wet && erotic indeed. bwahahah~

sci-fi

the whole sci-fi kinda look… isn’t something i do often. i *like* to think i can work it from casual to cute to goth to grunge && back again, but the kind of look i put together for today is def out of my comfort zone.

i tip my hat to those avatars out there that can take this style of fashion and run with it — like laverne unit, whose avatar is drop dead gorgeous. especially here, my *god*. she is stunning!

while browsing her blog, i can only hope that i at least do the space-y thing a li’l bit of justice!

it’s also….. bubblegum weekend. something i’ve not participated in.. in a *very* long time. so i broke out the pastel-colored hair for another go at it this week, because the bubblegum challenge was always fun for me. and i figured if i was already goin’ all sci-fi, why not go one step further && have lavender hair for a look, too? change it up all the way around!

my *entire* look was actually inspired by one thing — these rainbow ‘n’ purple digi legs from epic out @ perfect wardrobe. the theme for this round was super colorful, but these boots just called to me. i love jade winthorpe‘s faun && neko legs, they are by far some of my favorite extra non-human bits in my inventory, and these boooooots. the animated textures on these really make them interesting (and mesmerizing to watch, too) and i could not resist putting together a look befitting them. i immediately thought they looked like super cute space boots, but with paws instead of feet, and .. well. what you see is what i came up with. x3

my piercings, they are newwww from hod. it’s called “mass of metal” && is out for the horror haute event. it comes in the two pieces i’m showing here, for the face && for the chest, but there’s also a facial tattoo included and a matching part for the lower abdomen as well. unisex, in gorgeous textures, with or without shadows…. hnnnggh. you’ve got *two more days* to snag it at a special price for the event, which ends on the 31st, so if you’re interested.. don’t wait. it’s so worth grabbing!

i’m also wearing a *new* skin out from red mint, called raw. their last skin release, prime, was definitely a favorite of mine for fantasy-type looks… the mixture of makeups && options really lent it to being more out there for me than for just everyday wear. and this skin, i have a feeling, will be the same for me… especially in this gorgeous grayed out tone. i actually really love the brows on this skin — they’re not “perfect” and that is exactly why i like them. and of course, all the li’l body details && shading make it insanely sexy.

almost everything i was wearing had something animated about it — whether it was glowing textures, spinning gears, or particles. and since the sim i was on (more about that below!) was just ridiculously amazing, i decided to take a short video of myself.. just standin’ about… with my AO running… so you can really see how much is goin’ on, ahaha. my arm prosthetics, my boots && my gas mask were all animated.. check it out!

and this sim i was on… okay, i know my post is already pretty huge even for my own standards (i mean, i know i can *ramble* on && on, but still).. but i couldn’t help taking a few snapshots of the insilico sim to show off, too. this build, i think, is one of the most impressive ones i’ve seen to date in sl. it looks like something straight out of a sci-fi novel and i spent hours wandering around it after taking my fashion shots. there’s *so much* to see, it’s a spectacular sim if you’ve never been there. just look at it..

runway

one of my favorite stores for poses, olive juice, is closing. ;.; it makes me unbelievably sad to see my faves close! but at the very least, there *is* a sale going on to help && lessen the blow… so of course, i went and grabbed all the pose sets i’ve been wanting.

the one thing i’ve been needing an excuse to buy is the runway pose prop.. and the fact that the store is closing was definitely a reason to pick it up. so bff vivi && i (along with a very small audience!) decided to play around on it while showing off some of our cutest lingerie… in a vixxie’s secret kind of “runway show”, complete with a set each of the *new* sparkly fairy wings from epic… which made us totally look the part!

i’m wearing a set of the *new* zicke lingerie from onyx wear.. which is soo cute && yet seriously sexy. super bright colors, lotsa different patterns to choose from, and some extra girly touches with the lace and bows made these an insta-fave for me. frank windlow does sexy pretty damn well, so it’s no surprise that these undies are hot.

vivienne on the other hand is wearing some adorable lingerie from blah.. there is no denying that blah does cute like none other, and the li’l wide-eyed owls are insanely kawaii. the cut on the panties is so flattering, with enough of a peek of the tushie to still be sexy too!

it was a lot of fun posing on the runway, with our friends braden && allarik who seemed all too eager to volunteer as the captivated audience (wonder why!), but i honestly think vivienne and i took it a bit too seriously.

after our first pass in one set of undies each, she && i hopped off the catwalk to change into a second set. but we got a little… catty while “backstage”, which i guess is par for the course when it comes to lingerie models, and when i took a bit too much time changing… vivi, i think, was kind of annoyed with me. and in turn, i got annoyed with her right back..

so when i stepped back out onto the runway and immediately slipped….

..i instantly thought it was vivi that pushed me.

we exchanged some angrily whispered words as we passed each other, pausing to pose for our audience and casting irritated glances at one another, and when we both stopped to strike a fierce pose at the end of the runway, vivi got a li’l.. handsy.

i may not be showing it there in my face, because clearly i am *such* a professional, but as vivi closed in to try && shove me off the end of the platform… by this point, i was seething. seething! she was trying to ruin my runway show!! i had to do something.

i mean, i was sure she was the reason why i slipped (even though now that i look back at the snaps, you can totes see she had nothing to do with it!), she then tried to push me in an epic pose battle at the end of the catwalk… my only recourse was to…

*ahem*

..was to give a member of our audience quite the scare.

it happens from time to time, even between bffs, to have a bit of a.. tiff. we just get too competitive sometimes, and it’s understandable. don’t worry, we got over it *mighty* quick && were back to bein’ bffles in no time… but for a little bit there, vivi and i were rivals on the runway. at least it made for an exciting show, i’m sure!
