dark side

welcome to my dark side…

…as if you’ve not seen it already. ;P

there’s *new* stuffs from some of my favorite brands && all of it is so perfect for halloween. or, y’know, everyday-wear if you’re me.

the skull-face tattoo && the multi-ring ear piercing i’m wearing above are new as a collab by nuuna’s and haus of darcy… and i cannot tell you how hard i fell for both. the piercing is partially mesh — the long spiked piece in my earlobe is mesh and awesome — and includes the facial tattoo in varying degrees of opacity for both men and women.

it’s available @ the fair event, the collection just rolled over to some really great new goodies, and if you’re anything like me.. you *need* this set. it is to die for (haw, no pun intended).

now, the skin i’m wearing underneath nuuna’s beautiful skull-face…

…is just one of *many* released from glam affair. this appropriately named dark side collection features some beautiful makeups on a range of skins from dark and mysterious to light and haunting. and they are absolutely gorgeous.

there’s two of glam affair’s most recent faces here — both ginny and roza. and each one is stunning. i could not pick a favorite out of these, each one is uniquely different. i love the full, dark red lips on one of the super pale skins, i love the stitched mouth on the darker gray skin, i love the two with bright pink blush dusted across the cheeks and eyes…

these are wonderful for halloween looks (which you already know i’m a fan of!), but could just as easily work for a fantasy avatar.. or something decidedly goth. these sorts of skins are a big part of the reason why i’m such a fan of glam affair — aida ewing does soft and pretty so well, but also indulges the opposite side of the spectrum quite often. i adore the skins.

and when these skins are paired with aydan darcy‘s wonderful piercings && nuuna nitely‘s amazing makeup… it is a trifecta of fan-fucking-tastic.

had enough halloween? not me!

to be fair, i’d wander around the grid like this even when it’s not halloween… but these “costume” kind of looks are so fun for me to put together && i could not resist doing something a li’l spacey!

this look here involves a lot of good stuff, so i’ve got lots to talk about!

first, the dress… it screamed *sci fi* to me. it’s new from glam affair && is out @ fameshed. i love the super structured shoulder pieces on this dress, it definitely looks to me like some sort of cybernetic uniform and it inspired my entire look for today~

next, the booooots(!). these are found @ the cinema event, by decoy. that entire event is just amazing — from the build, to the theme, to all the goodies offered there — and these boots in, appropriately enough, the sci fi section were one of my favorite grabs. i love the shape of them and the fit.. and those colored stripes towards the foot are color change in either solid or glittery choices!

and the skin… which really gives my avatar an alien sort of vibe. it’s *new* from red mint and while, technically, the one i’m wearing here is meant to be drow.. i think it really works well for a sci fi, fantasy kind of look. this silvery blue is so pretty && it comes with a ton of options for cleavage, freckles, and different lips. plus! if i weren’t wearing these awesome arm prosthetics from grollwerk, the skin even comes with pre-tinted glove layers to cover the base fingertips for wearing prim nails. *much* appreciated, because i do like my prim nails.

don’t worry — i’ll get back to blogging more “normal” things eventually. but doing halloween looks are just too much fun~ :3

somewhere in that picture lies a “is that a laser gun in your pocket?” kind of joke, but i’ll leave that to y’all. ;D

so! two days, two posts.. i think i’m on a roll. and the look i’ve got for today is shiny, sexy and most definitely sci-fi.

inspiration comes in the most unexpected ways… and while bff vivi && i were roamin’ around vintage fair, i saw a set of spacey-gun-toting poses from ploom… and knew i *had* to have ’em. so i dressed to match the whole sexy space bond girl vibe these poses gave me && voila~

really, like i need another excuse to dress like i’m from outer space, but y’know… ;P

i grabbed a new outfit from graves (which comes in two versions per color choice — one in full latex like i’m showing here && then a version that’s a little more daring, but more on that in a moment!), a pair of platform boots i spied at fashion voodoo from a&y, and a new mesh hair from magika that i instantaneously fell in love with. this half-black, half-white color is just deliciousness && i *love* the way this hair frames the face… it’s awesome and sexy and long and i adore it.

ever since i gave this entire style genre (whatever you wanna call it — cybernetic, sci-fi, etc etc) a try months and months ago, i’ve really fallen for it. there’s always a temptation there to completely transform vixxie into some sort of.. cyborg permanently, but i’ve not made that jump yet. still, it’s fun to dress up this way every once in a while && feed that need… especially when latex can be insanely sexy…

..or i suppose, the lack of latex too, can be insanely sexy. teehee?

bunny hood

with rl as busy as it has been lately, it seems the only times i can get a moment to myself to take pics for my bloggity here.. are on the weekends. no me gusta. i’m hoping my free time gets a bit more ample here soon, otherwise i am gonna go a li’l insane methinks.

but at least i always have retail therapy in sl to make it aaaaall better~

bff vivi && i hit up a few places over the weekend… and we both about *died* over these new mesh hoodies from aura, which are out @ the new round of fameshed. there were so many colors to pick from and each one has an adorable hood complete with long bunny ears attached.. vivienne and i could not say no. she picked a pretty purple shade, while i went with black and lime green, and both are so super cute! looove these!

vivi decided to pair her hoodie with some denim shorts, from mon tissu, and a hair she also picked up at fameshed by wasabi pills. it’s simple and it’s short, but it’s *so* cute. i like the over-the-eye bangs and the short, whispy ends make this style just adorable.. and of course, my bff is just too cute for words to begin with. ❤❤

i’m wearing my version of the sweatshirt with a pair of rolled-up jeans from tres blah, some flats from ufo that i snagged @ collabor88, a *gorgeous* updo from exile that’s discounted at the dressing room blue && a *dollarbie* headband from monso that’s offered at the bombi event. there’s lots of goodies at bombi if you haven’t gone.. including an entire wall of lucky boards and gifts/cheapies dotted around in several of the designer’s stalls. plus the build is sooo cute and so are the rest of the items there. definitely worth checkin’ out, if for no other reason than to stalk those lucky boards — the version on the boards of this headband i’m wearing, i will have you!!

pink && green

new skin from pink fuel(!!!!!), new really amusing jewelry from amorous && a new *freebie!* piercing set from haus of darcy… seems as if these designers want me to *die* of happiness.

i’m a li’l late when it comes to the skin addiction event, but when i saw there was a new pink fuel skin there.. just waiting for me to grab it.. i *knew* i had to go. and i am in loooooove. ❤ i love these lips, i love the two makeup choices (there’s scene, which i’m wearing here with dark eyes and glossy lips, and classic which has a less dramatic eye but has *perfect* red lips), i just love this face. i’m not sure which skin i like more, this alena skin or the alyx skin mochi milena has been teasing us with, but either way.. i *cannot* wait for the full release of either one! /me foams at the mouth

the necklace i’m wearing, from amorous… well. if you clickie that picture and make it larger, you’ll be able to see the message on the pendant. and i am sure you’ll fully understand why it amuses me so. 😉

and let us not forget… freebie piercings from hod! the set of 4 omega nose gauges are *freeeeeeee* for the men only hunt, which started on the 26th && only runs for *two weeks*. while the prizes are more geared towards the guys, aydan darcy included both large && small sizes of these piercings to make ’em easier to fit on the ladies, too. which makes me so happy, because these bright, rainbowy colors are something you don’t normally find in hod’s already unique piercings… so the fact that i can wear these too is totally appreciated.

and they are completely free! all you gotta do is find ’em (so if you need a hint as to the prize location, check here and good luck!)~

events galore

it seems like there is never a shortage of events goin’ on in sl these days. whether it’s sales, discount stores, charity fundraisers, themed events… not that i’m complaining, of course (and neither is my wallet, lemme tell ya), but trying to hit ’em all up can be quite a task!

luckily, bff vivi is just as much of a *shopaholic* as i am.. and thus, we can conceivably take advantage of twice as many sales as we could on our own if we combined our shopping forces together~

she && i have hit up quite a few events and sales lately.. so we thought it only fitting to show off our haul together!

a new round of the my attic sale on the deck sim started up last night… including *lots* of our favorite brands. the pretty skin vivienne is wearing here, along with this *adorable* pigtail hair, are both @ my attic from ploom and are discounted to just *95L* a color/tone. i think it’s safe to say that vivi’s *favorite* brand for skins is ploom — she has worn the maia face pretty exclusively since she snagged a few of helyanwe vindaloo‘s skins. this particular skin is a different face, lea this time, but it looks just as pretty on vivi as her usual, and the discount.. i’m fairly certain vivi squealed when i told her about it. ;p

her top here, by baiastice, is out for a hefty discount @ the dressing room blue.. along with a whole slew of awesome goodies from some amazing brands, as usual. both of the dressing room events are fantastic ways to discover new-to-you brands (for instance, neither vivi nor i owned any baiastice mesh clothing before this… but after seeing this top? and its adorable star pattern? makes me want to rectify my lack of this brand in my inventory!) as well as grab some items from brands you know for much less than expected. this top in particular was a nice find.. the color, cut && *price* make it perfect to lounge around in while the summer heat creeps up!

the ruffly yellow shorts i’m wearing here, by g field are a *donation* item out @ culture shock. g field can really do no wrong in my eyes when it comes to shoes and clothing (but especially shoes!!) so grabbing these was a no-brainer.. especially since the cost to purchase goes right to the charity culture shock is raising funds for. these shorts are cute, flirty && packed with details all over.. the bright yellow color (which i am *loving* lately) was just a bonus.

and the last sales event i wanted to touch on was this month’s round of collabor88. there’s no shortage of goodies at collabor88, some of which i’ve already blogged, but the cloudy-sky necklace i’m wearing here from league (those clouds.. they move!) && the white shrug i’ve got on by kyoot both were things i *had* to have. i always look forward to when a new collection @ collabor88 goes up and this round was particularly wonderful.. i don’t think there was anything i *didn’t* like.

shopping on a budget can be a bit of a pain, but there’s definitely no reason not to hit up all the various sales && events out there to feed your shoppin’ need. and you never know, you could discover a new favorite designer… which is always exciting.. at least to me. /shopping junkie

sometimes, a girl just needs a dress…

..or two.

i am *not* the girliest girl, not by a long shot, but i can appreciate a dress every now && then. my taste in dresses is usually less.. ruffly and “lady like” and, rather, more… well.. less is more. so i decided to put together two looks for today, built around two short mesh dresses i’ve picked up this last week in world.

the first is from paper doll, which is out for stumblebum this round. it’s skin tight, *just* short enough, and comes in some lovely color choices.. including this fading white-to-pink one i chose to wear here. li’l dresses like this are perrrr~fect for the upcoming warmer months && look just as nice with a pair of high heeled pumps as it would with, say… a pair of wedge sandals and some sunglasses. plus since it’s stumblebum, that means it’s *discounted* (25% off, to be exact!)… which always makes dress shopping that much more enjoyable~

and speaking of discounts… this month’s round of collabor88 rolled over a few days ago. collabor88 is one of my *favorite* sales events and this month’s collection really bowled me over. there were so many cute things there this go ’round, it was honestly a li’l overwhelming! but i *did* manage to snag a few things amidst my bewilderment, including this dress i’m wearing here, from boom. which, tbph, is actually labeled as a long, baggy t-shirt… but to me? it looks like an adorable cotton minidress.. and worked rather well that way (but remember to wear panties, i’m *just* sayin’! ;)).

the earrings i’m wearing in both looks are also out @ collabor88, from intrigue co. the dangly charms are shaped like unicorns… unicorns(!!).. and come in sets that were made to mix && match colors. i probably didn’t pick the perfect hairstyle to show these earrings off (but i could not resist wearing this insanely cute style from ploom that i grabbed at culture shock), so you’ll just have to take my word for it. oooorrrr go try the earrings yourself to see! really, really cute.. and i did mention they were unicorns, right? because they are! unicorns!

while searching for a pretty, spring-time sim to snap some pictures on, bff vivi && i stumbled upon a gorgeous place called calas galadhon. there were so many li’l spots to sneak a sweet, romantic moment (tandem bike rides.. a hot air balloon!).. and lots of places perfect for taking photographs.. that she and i *totally* felt the love in the air~

shame it was just with my best friend! ;P

at least she and i looked pretty! ehe.

well, we always look pretty.. but still. ahah.

vivienne and i both *really* loved the latest mesh releases from cold logic.. so much so that we both decided to wear tops from the newest set. hers, with the cut-out sleeves and low neckline, is in stunning shades of coraly pink, soft peach && pastel yellow.. all swirled together in a pattern that looks very much like it’s all been water marbled.

she paired the top with a pair of pastel mesh jeans from maitreya in the prettiest baby pink… as well as *two* grabs from the culture shock event — her hair, from exile && her shoes (which were freebies!) from g field. lovely in pink, with accents of yellow.. my bestie is covered head-to-toe in springtime shades and looking fabulous in it~

i, too, was feelin’ the yellow for today.. only instead of pink, i liked the color contrast of this perfect bright blue with it. as i said, my top is from cold logic as well && i *loved* the way this layered top drapes at the waist. it’s flowy and feminine and this color combo really stood out to me.. all of which make for an adorable top that’s easily one of my favorites released thus far.

so i grabbed a pair of mesh white shorts from jane to match.. and a pair of platform sandals from slink, a golden tasseled necklace from glow studio (that’s discounted @ the dressing room blue!) && a soft, side-swept hairstyle from lelutka completed the look.

of course, i had a blast roaming the sim with my bff… but just look at how wonderfully built && landscaped it is. as cheesy as it sounds, it would be *perfect* for a sl date night… *hint hint*… but is just as lovely for some quiet exploration by yourself~

beach bodies

after seeing the pretty crossing currents sim on strawberry singh‘s post, photobombed, i knew i had to take pictures there eventually.

so when bff vivi && i decided we needed to prance around in swimsuits for a few bloggity pics, i knew exactly where to take her!

except, she and i didn’t get photobombed… i kept an eye out for that bird berry mentioned… but i didn’t see it *anywhere*. nothing out of the ordinary popped up in the background of my photos..

so strange, right? where *did* that bird go?

no matter!

spring means getting beach body ready, right? and vivienne && i thought we’d get a li’l practice in, before swimsuit season *officially* gets here. there are some bathing suits out there on the grid already, which ended up being most helpful while we were putting together our summery looks~

mine, for instance, is from stellar — which just released a whole new collection of bathing suits that are more on the *modest* side. i can appreciate that, considering that the vast majority of swimwear out there right now leaves very little to the imagination, and these new tankinis are so cute! plus, just because i’m a li’l more covered up, doesn’t mean i can’t be sexy.. just look at that peek of booty on those shorts! ;D

vivi went with a more traditional bikini, that she picked up from a new-to-us store called the bishes inc. these ‘kinis came in a ton of color choices && are nicely made.. she and i both really liked the ties at the hips. simple, cute and inexpensive too… which is always nice, ’cause a girl could go broke buyin’ swimwear, for reals~

i’m still not sure where that bird got to, though. perhaps he didn’t like us as much as he liked berry? i’m not sure! but i was expecting to be photobombed by him && ended up not seeing him at all… very peculiar, indeed.
