it’s independence day

…and vivienne and i are feeling festive!

july 4th is, like, the *height* of summer.  it’s sweltering and hot today, i can smell bbq somewhere off in the distance (and it’s driving me MAD, i want some!!!), and i am counting down the minutes (currently 90 ;D) to fireworks.  \o/

so i dragged bff vivi in to pose in red white && blue with me for today’s post. it’s only fitting, right?

she and i both did the whole patriotic thing in different ways. vivi, with the actual flag. and me… taking the whole stars and stripes thing literally!

we *also* both opted for some cute hand-held accessories!

so first, vivi’s look..

where did her skirt go?!?! D;

vivienne took the cute && sexy american flag bikini from sassy and wore it with a white denim mini skirt from onyx wear. with her uber-tanned skin and adorable magika pigtails, i thought she looked like she was ready to head to a mid-summer pool party.

red plaid *freebie* sneakers from in her shoes and socks from katatonik finish off her look in a casual way, which is perfect for a hot day like today. ’cause who struts around in heels while sweating their balls off?!?!

oohhhh, riiii~iiight.. i do. eheh.

my look all centers around the very appropriately colored && patterned mini skirt from luck inc. red *and* stars, it was easy to build a red white && blue look around this skirt.

so i paired a cute overshirt from bellies in blue with a cami in white from fri.day. and, of course, the *freeeeeeeeebie* ankle boots from juicy tie the entire look together in all their patriotic splendor.

topped off with a star-filled tattoo from para designs and a headband from the twinkle night bazaar that is so charming it’s almost ridiculous, i definitely took the star theme and ran with it. but the colors are unmistakable and *totally* work for a 4th of july celebration.

now i must go stake out a good spot to watch the fireworks!! ^O^
